Keys not responding, letters typing themselves, sticky keys after a coffee spill, or keycaps missing? A faulty keyboard makes a laptop unusable, but it’s one of the quickest repairs we do. Bring it to our West Ealing workshop and most keyboards are replaced the same day, with a 3 month warranty.
Symptoms
From one dead key to a full spill, diagnosed properly before anything is replaced.
One dead key or a whole row. Sometimes a clean fixes it; usually the keyboard membrane has failed and needs replacing.
Sticky, unresponsive or erratic keys after coffee, tea or wine. Act fast: liquid spreads to the board. We clean internally and replace the keyboard, see also water damage repair.
Ghost typing, repeated letters, or wrong characters appearing. Usually a shorted membrane, occasionally software, we test both.
Snapped keys, lost clips, broken hinges under the cap.
Single keys from £20 · full keyboard from £55Keys work but the backlight is dead or patchy. Backlight and keyboard assembly replacement available.
Bought abroad with a US or EU layout? We fit proper UK keyboards on most models.

Genuine-spec keyboard fitted. On modern ultrabooks this can involve top-case work, we handle those too.
