We never guess. Every phone is inspected under magnification first: compacted lint or debris means a £30 clean solves it. Bent pins, a loose connector or a port that still fails after cleaning means a replacement, which we quote before starting any work.
No. Neither a port clean nor a port replacement touches your storage: photos, messages, apps and settings stay exactly as they were. A backup is always wise, but nothing is wiped during this repair.
Yes. We service the Lightning port on iPhone X through iPhone 14 and the USB-C port on iPhone 15 onwards, and older models are quoted on enquiry. Both get the same clean-first approach and the same 3-month warranty on replacements.
Yes. Don’t force it to charge. That warning means moisture or residue on the port contacts. We clean and dry the port professionally and check for corrosion before it spreads. If liquid has gone deeper, we’ll advise on water damage repair.
We don’t recommend it. Pins, toothpicks and compressed air often bend the contacts or push debris further in, turning a £30 clean into a full replacement. The connector pins are fragile and easily damaged.
