Home Visit Service
Our engineer comes to your home, diagnoses the problem in front of you, and fixes it on the spot when possible. Covering West Ealing and up to 10 miles across London, from our shop at 187 Uxbridge Rd, W13 9AJ.
Postcode price check
Prices below cover the first hour, including travel from our West Ealing store. Approximate zone is worked out from your outer postcode area (e.g. W6, SW1, NW3).
Type a London postcode and press Check price.
We match your outer postcode (the letters and first number, e.g. W6) to a distance band. Individual streets inside the same outer code sit within a mile or two of each other, so the band is a reliable guide but not a promise. The exact figure is confirmed when you book.

Pricing
The first hour includes travel from our store and starts from the first minute on the spot. Every additional started hour is a flat £55, regardless of your zone. So a two-hour visit in Zone 2 is £95 + £55 = £150.

Home visit fixes
Windows or macOS running like treacle. We clean up startup, spot failing drives, and can upgrade RAM or swap in an SSD on the spot.
Dead spots in the back bedroom, slow speeds, mesh setup, printer that won’t stay connected. We test signal, reposition kit, and configure routers.
Fresh laptop, MacBook, or PC out of the box. We migrate data, install essentials, configure email, and hand it back ready to use.
Suspicious pop-ups, browser hijacks, ransom notes. Full clean and hardening so it doesn’t happen again.
The classic won’t-print, won’t-scan, won’t-talk-to-the-Wi-Fi. Set up new printers, replace drivers, fix stubborn queues.
Locked out, hacked, or migrating providers. We reset securely and lock things down with two-factor.
Old laptop to new laptop, phone to phone, or setting up a proper backup routine so photos and documents survive the next mishap.
Alexa, Google Nest, smart plugs, TV streaming. If the setup guide made no sense, we make it work.
How a visit works
Call the shop or send a message with your postcode and a short description of the problem. Same-day slots go quickly, especially Friday afternoons.
We ring you back to agree a time window, confirm the zone rate, and ask a couple of questions so we bring the right kit.
Named engineer, diagnostic in front of you. Most jobs are done in the first hour. Anything longer, we tell you before we start.
Card, cash, bank transfer, or payment link. Receipt in your inbox. 3-month warranty starts from that day, so if the same problem comes back, we come back too.
Honest limits
A home visit works brilliantly for setup, software, and cleaner mechanical jobs. It doesn’t work for micro-soldering. Here’s the honest split so you don’t waste an hour finding out.
Screen replacement needs a clean, dust-controlled bench and specific adhesives. We do these same-day at our West Ealing shop instead.
Board-level soldering under a microscope. Bring it in and we usually turn it around inside a few hours.
Ultrasonic cleaning and component-level board work. First-hour drying advice on the phone is free; the repair itself has to happen at the shop.
Failed drives with mechanical damage need a clean environment. If your drive won’t spin, don’t power it back on; call us and we’ll talk you through the safest next step.
If we start a job at your home and realise it needs bench work, we take the device back to the shop at no extra visit charge, finish the repair, and can return to reinstall if that’s useful. You only pay for the shop repair itself.
FAQ
Yes, one hour minimum. If the fix takes fifteen minutes, you still pay the first-hour rate for your zone. In practice most home visits genuinely need the full hour once we’ve diagnosed, fixed, and made sure the problem is really gone.
Each additional started hour is a flat £55, regardless of your zone. We always warn you before crossing an hour boundary, so you can decide whether to keep going.
Ideally yes, at least at the start and end. We need to be let in, want to explain what we found, and prefer to hand the device back to you personally. If you need to pop out mid-visit, that’s fine.
Card (or payment link), bank transfer, or cash. We charge for the first hour up-front, then any additional hours on completion. Receipt goes straight to your email.
If you’re inside the M25 and within 10 miles of W13 9AJ, almost certainly yes. Use the calculator above to check your zone. Just outside 10 miles? Ask anyway. We’ll say yes when we can and no when we can’t.
Weekdays 08:30-19:00 and Saturday 09:00-16:30 are our standard slots. Sunday and out-of-hours visits are possible for urgent business or emergency jobs, quoted individually.
Yes, 3 months on parts and labour. If the same problem returns within that window, we come back and sort it at no extra charge.
Parts (SSDs, RAM, batteries, cables, network kit) are quoted separately before we install them, with your consent. Common consumer parts we often carry in the van; specialist parts we source and return with.
